A Richmond Christmas

Since I moved up here in October, I’ve been working on decorating my loft apartment. I have really loved the process and wanted to share it with all of you. As an added bonus, I decided to wait until I also had my Christmas decorations up. My loft community hosted a Holiday Loft Tour event and I was one of the lofts on the tour. Here are some pics I took right before the party!

Walking in the door you can see my “office” directly in front of you. The clock pictured here actually belonged to one of my grandfathers. So, it is literally a “grandfather clock” ; ) the yellow poster was one I got when I was in Sweden and the wood sculpture was something I picked up in the ATL. I also built the desk you see pictured here. It’s gone through several redesigns, but the current is my favorite.

Turning slightly to the right you will see my “living room” area. All of this stuff is basically new, and I loved picking out the couch and coffee table. Notice the train? This is one we used to put out when we were kids!

Here’s a look at the living room from the kitchen area. You can get a better feel for the couch in this pic.

Turning a little more to the left of the previous picture, you can see my kitchen island in the foreground and my “gallery” wall in the “office.” I have a lot of art work in this space and I love all of it! Some is mine and some is stuff I’ve picked up along the way.

Going back to the entrance, to get a better look of the kitchen area. In the background, you can see the bedroom area (under the Coke sign). It’s a studio, hence the open floor plan.

Here’s a closer look at the bedroom. I love the low profile platform bed. The end tables were my grandparents. They brought them brand new back in the 50’s. Talk about mid century modern!
